🐾 WOLF Trail ethics: respect, animal welfare and authenticity

At WOLF Trail, we believe that responsible tourism begins with respect for animals, nature and our visitors. Our ethics guide every decision we make, allowing us to offer genuine experiences far from mass tourism.

🐶 Our dogs’ welfare comes first

Our huskies are at the heart of our life here in Lapland. Their welfare always comes before tourism:

• Every dog has an insulated and heated shelter where they can rest.
• Our dogs go outside every day to play together and exercise freely.
• Our senior dogs are never left aside. They live in a large 800 m² enclosure, continue to go outside and interact with the younger dogs.
• We never euthanise dogs because of performance, age or profitability. If a serious, incurable and painful health condition can no longer be relieved, the decision is made in the dog’s best interest to avoid prolonging its suffering.
• Our dogs are fed twice a day. In summer, their diet consists mainly of dry food. In winter, it is adapted to their activity level with dry food, meat and salmon oil.
• We respect each dog’s individual personality and never force contact with dogs that do not want it.

🌲 Small-group experiences

To preserve privacy and quality while limiting our impact, we welcome:

• 2 to 8 guests for stays,
• generally 2 to 12 participants for activities. Depending on the composition of the families, particularly the number of adults and children, a departure may exceptionally include up to 16 participants.

Before every activity, including husky safaris and reindeer encounters, we clearly explain how the experience will unfold and how to behave around the animals.
